Five Holiday Inspired Books
Books I’m excited to read this holiday season
I can’t believe the holidays are nearly upon us already! Happy Holidays π I don’t know about you but I’m not even remotely ready for them! I still have shopping to do and holiday movies to watch and books to read π. I feel like this season has gone by especially fast and I just want it to slow down a bit so we can enjoy it more!
I also feel that with this years’ holiday season is looking so different than any other year. What better way to live vicariously than with a holiday-inspired book or 5? I think you’ll find a theme here, too. I’m a sucker for holiday romances and mysteries.
Five holiday inspired books to get you all the warm and fuzzies this season.
In a Holidaze by Christina Lauren – I picked this book up as my December Book of the Month pic because it was touted as being a cross between Groundhogs day and a Hallmark holiday romance. I donβt know about you but that sounds awesome! I’ve heard so many good things about this one lately. I’m in! Get it here
This Time Next Year by Sophie Cousens–This one has a very cute premise, the main character Minnie and her love interest Quinn are both new year’s babies born seconds apart at the same hospital. They keep meeting each other at various events years later and though they are opposites and don’t really get along, it seems like fate might have these two slated to be together anyway. It looks so cute and I’ve heard some really good things about this one. This was one of my November Book of the Month picks and I have been saving it just for the holidays. Find it Here
Rest Ye Murdered Gentlemen by Vicki Delany--Because who doesn’t like a little murder with their gingerbread cookies? JK- Seriously though, here’s a holiday cozy mystery set in a year-round Christmas themed town. I don’t know much about this one (and that’s how I like to go into a Cozy Mystery) other than that it’s the first of a series and there is an adorable St. Bernard pup on the cover. But, it looks fun and adorable and makes me want to curl up with a blanket and get lost in it. Find it Here
Finding Christmas: A Novel by Karen Schaler and how festive is that cover, am I right? Google Play Books says: “Finding Christmas, is inspired by a family scavenger hunt tradition. All of Schaler’s stories are uplifting, filled with heart, and hope.” That sounds like so much fun and gives me Hallmark movie vibes, (which I love)! Can’t wait. P.S. when I looked up this book, there is a Hallmark movie with the same title, but doesn’t seem to be the same characters. Has anyone watched it? Find it Here
Royal Holiday by Jasmine Guillory— I haven’t heard anything about this one at all yet. I happened upon it on the publishers’ website when I was looking for something else. It looks super cute though. Our main character Vivian tags along with her daughter during the holidays on a work trip to England. Her plan is to do some sightseeing while her daughter is working at the palace styling a member of the royal family. But she ends up meeting Malcolm who is the Queen’s private secretary and the two of them have this amazing whirlwind romance that they know can’t possibly last as she’ll be heading back home to the States after New-Years…. Sounds so cute and can’t wait to pick this one up! Get it Here
The Holiday Spirit
I feel like many of us need just a little extra boost to get in the holiday spirit this year. Books are a great way to do that and help us decompress, too (also, TV and movies). However you get into the mood and whatever way you are celebrating this year, I hope you have a wonderful rest of your holiday season and a happy New Year!~Renee ππβ€
Tea Time
The tea I’m loving right now is a good old-fashioned strong Irish Breakfast in addition to copious amounts of coffee.
